A message of hope

Dear Students,

I wish to share with you part of my life story which you may find interesting and motivating in some sense.

I did my basic schooling from a village nearly seventy kilometers away from Kota city. After completing my middle education, I rode 10 km daily to Ramganj Mandi, a town better known for its stones, on cycle, to pursue my further education from Class IX onwards. I was totally ignorant about what IIT was till then. I came to know about IIT, when I was in Class X, through my friend who gave me grandeur view of IIT.

From that point, I gathered more information about IIT, more books, more study material and previous years solved exam papers. I appeared in the IIT-JEE, and in the very first attempt tasted success (in Hindi Medium) and entered IIT-Madras.

After passing out from IIT Madras in 1994, I joined B.H.E.L. While working in B.H.E.L. I was selected in IAS - Preliminary at first attempt. I left B.H.E.L. to prepare for IAS- Mains and started teaching in order to have time for studies and also to sustain me financially. But teaching drew me too close and with time, I discovered that I and teaching were made for each other. I abandoned the idea to join IAS and instead, started working to build educational set-up and sowed the seeds of my vision - Resonance.

I had nothing except self-confidence at that juncture. I had to face the challenges from the big-giants in the field of education with big infrastructure. I had made up my mind that Resonance should be the leader in Education, particularly for IIT-JEE aspirants. This was the need of the hour.

Today Resonance boasts of 3655 selections in the IIT-JEE in the last seven years (from its start in 2001 to 2008). The organization which started with just three people today employs more than 500 persons. Resonance which made a very humble beginning from a three classroom building now has ten buildings in Kota itself where it started operations. It has presence in the major cities of country in Delhi, Bhopal, Lucknow, Kolkata, Nagpur, Jaipur as Study Centers and Chandigarh, Indore, Ranchi and Patna as Information Centers.

Diligence and discipline are two watch words I live by and these help me in fulfilling all my priorities and I expect all of you to essentially accept them for you to be successful in life.

I will keep sharing with you on other important success parameters too.
